MMP Studio was commissioned by The Alfred Hospital to document their Allied Health services, showcasing the vital role these professionals play in patient care. The project aimed to capture authentic moments across various departments, including Orthoptics, Podiatry, Orthotics, and the ICU.

The main challenge was to capture high-quality, engaging images of complex medical procedures and patient interactions while adhering to strict hospital protocols and time constraints. We needed to work efficiently across multiple departments, each with unique requirements and sensitive environments.

We adopted a flexible, documentary-style approach that allowed us to capture authentic moments without disrupting patient care. Our lightweight, portable equipment enabled quick transitions between departments. We worked closely with Allied Health staff to understand each procedure and identify key moments to photograph.

The shoot was conducted over a single day, with tight one-hour slots allocated to each department. We began in Orthoptics, capturing detailed images of specialized equipment like the Clarus Fundus Camera and Optical Coherence Tomography. In Podiatry and Orthotics, we focused on patient interactions and the orthotics manufacturing process. The ICU required extra sensitivity and adherence to strict hygiene protocols.

We delivered a comprehensive set of images that vividly illustrate the expertise and compassion of The Alfred's Allied Health professionals. The photos have been used on the hospital's website, in marketing materials, and for patient education, effectively showcasing the range and quality of services offered.
