Behind the Scenes: Photographing the World Health Summit Regional Meeting 2024

Introduction:
Capturing a global health summit is no small feat, but when Monash University approached us to photograph the World Health Summit Regional Meeting 2024, I knew we were in for an exhilarating challenge.

Background:
Monash needed comprehensive coverage of this prestigious event, with multiple sessions running concurrently across six rooms. The kicker? They required immediate turnaround for real-time social media updates. Our solution? A dynamic two-photographer team approach, coupled with a streamlined editing and delivery process.

Photoshoot Process:
Over three intense days, my colleague David Hannah and I tag-teamed the event. While David captured stunning shots with his long lens, I focused on wider angles, creating a perfect balance of detailed and atmospheric images.

One of the most memorable moments came during the Misinformationitis panel. AFLW player Akec Makur Chuot absolutely stole the show with her refreshing perspective and infectious humor. It's moments like these that remind me why I love what I do – capturing not just the speakers, but the energy and personality of an event.
Another highlight was photographing the Governor, Margaret Gardner, and the Vice-Chancellor of Monash at Government House. The grandeur of the setting added an extra layer of prestige to the already impressive roster of speakers.

Outcomes:
The client's response has been overwhelmingly positive. Our photos have been used extensively across Monash's website and social media channels, significantly boosting their event coverage and global engagement. The Marketing Manager for the event even called us "a highly valued supplier" – high praise indeed!

Conclusion:
This project showcased our ability to deliver under pressure in the healthcare events sector. By combining technical expertise with an eye for those candid, human moments, we provided Monash with a visual narrative that truly captured the essence of this important global health summit.
