Introduction:

MMP Studio was engaged by the Victorian Adult Burns Service at The Alfred, one of Victoria's leading tertiary hospitals, to capture high-quality imagery for their website. This project aimed to showcase the unit's expertise, state-of-the-art facilities, and patient-centred care approach.

Challenge:

The Burns Service needed professional photographs that would effectively communicate their services, highlight their advanced treatments, and convey a sense of trust and expertise to potential patients and their families. The challenge was to capture authentic moments in a sensitive healthcare environment while adhering to strict privacy and hygiene protocols.

Solution:

Our approach combined technical expertise with a deep understanding of healthcare environments. We planned a comprehensive shoot covering various aspects of the Burns Service, from ward interactions to groundbreaking innovations and surgical procedures. Our team's experience in medical photography allowed us to work efficiently and unobtrusively, capturing genuine moments without disrupting the unit's operations.

Process:

The photo shoot was our premium photography package, conducted over a 4-hour session. We began by documenting patient-staff interactions in the burns wards, then focused on capturing a nurse preparing bandages in a specialised washroom. A highlight of the shoot was photographing Dr. Dane Holden, Deputy Director of the Burns Service, showcasing the innovative NovoSorb bioengineered skin. We then moved to the operating theatre, capturing the surgical team in action, and applying the cutting-edge NovoSorb treatment.

Precision in preparation: A surgeon dons her third layer of gloves with assistance from a theatre nurse, demonstrating the meticulous pre-op protocols at the Victorian Adult Burns Service. This careful attention to sterile technique ensures the highest standards of patient safety and care.

Outcome:

The resulting images have been successfully implemented on the Victorian Adult Burns Service website and The Alfred Hospital's online platforms. The photographs effectively showcase the unit's expertise, advanced treatments, and compassionate care. The client was particularly impressed with our image selection process, allowing them to manage sensitive content and ensure patient privacy easily.
